About Susanne
Called to minister through her life lessons, Susanne Hughes counsels women all across America. She has found that most women are disillusioned in their relationship with Jesus largely due to presenting themselves “veiled” before a holy God. Susanne brings a message of freedom and of hope as she challenges women to remove whatever veils are hindering them from experiencing an intimate, vibrant, ever-deepening relationship with the Lover of their souls, Jesus Christ.
In 1994, Susanne Hughes met Jesus “face to face;” but when she continued to struggle with intense feelings of inadequacy, an obsessive need for security, and unexplainable anger and bitterness, Susanne began to question her relationship with the Lord. Broken before a merciful God, Susanne found herself tenderly carried through an intense season of healing that resulted in a relationship with Jesus leagues deeper than she ever knew possible. Knowing Jesus “heart to heart” has brought about a freedom that has been life changing. It is Susanne’s passion to use the truth of God’s Word to equip others to enter an equally free and intimate relationship with Jesus.
Susanne was called to women’s ministry while attending a ladies’ retreat in the spring of 2004. Over the course of the following three years, the Lord molded and shaped Susanne’s heart and life to equip her for the ministry to which He was calling her. Susanne founded Mirror Ministries in January 2007, in fulfillment of the Lord’s leading and call on her life. The Ministry stands on the principle that all persons, believer and non-believer alike, must remove the veils and pretense from their lives before they can rightly present themselves before a holy God and experience the abundant and rich life He offers them.
Actively involved in ministry most of her adult life, Susanne has been in the Lord’s service in various capacities. She has served on staff at Trinity Baptist Church in Lake Charles, Louisiana (www.tbclc.org), and has also served on the Ladies’ Ministry Executive Council there. Susanne has been a Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) leader and has personally written and taught in-depth Bible Studies to women from a variety of denominational backgrounds.
Susanne has been married to her husband, Stephen, for seventeen years. They are the proud parents of three wonderful sons: Jonathan , Joshua and Joseph. She is a dedicated wife and mother who enjoys actively participating in the spiritual, recreational and personal growth of her family.
