Meet the Board
Susanne Hughes, is founder and President of Mirror Ministries. She has been in the Lord’s service in various capacities most of her adult life. Susanne is the author of Everyday Parables: Hearing God’s Voice in the Simple Things of Life and Rescue Scriptures: Scriptures to Claim for Freedom from Areas of Bondage or Entrapment. Susanne has served on staff at Trinity Baptist Church in Lake Charles, Louisiana, and on the Ladies’ Ministry Executive Council there. She has been a Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) leader and has written and taught in-depth Bible Studies to women from a variety of denominational backgrounds. She is married to Stephen Hughes, and they are the proud parents of three sons: Jonathan, Joshua and Joseph.
Stephen Hughes is Vice-President of Mirror Ministries. He has a heart for mission work which includes his involvement on the foreign mission field and in local missions. Stephen has served as a youth director, teacher to college students and professionals, and has been actively involved in children’s ministry for many years. He has been an integral part of music ministry at several churches during his lifetime including singing in the choir, leading children’s and youth choirs and singing on praise teams. He is a deacon at Trinity Baptist Church and currently serves as the Minister of Music at Tom Hebert Road Baptist Church.
Cindy Beatty, Secretary for Mirror Ministries, is the Administrative Assistant to the Senior Pastor at Trinity Baptist Church, Lake Charles, Louisiana. In past years, she served as Director of Ladies’ Ministry at Trinity which afforded her many opportunities to meet and minister to women in varying degrees of bondage and pain. Cindy has a heart for ministering to people. She is involved in Celebration Choir and is a Care Group leader in her Sunday Morning Bible Study class. Cindy is married to Kevin, her husband of 37 years, and they have one son, Jonathan.
Gordon “Sonny” Steen is Treasurer for Mirror Ministries. He recently retired as the Senior Financial Officer at Trinity Baptist Church after 71/2 years of service. He came to Trinity after over 25 years of working in banking in Louisiana and several years of teaching math and computer science at Hamilton Christian Academy. Sonny has a passion for foreign missions and has been on medical mission trips to Kenya the past two years. He has been active in both music and children’s ministry for over 30 years. He is a deacon at Trinity Baptist Church.
Roger Boyette, Member at Large for Mirror Ministries, is co-founder and current President/General Manager of ReCon Management Services, Inc. and ReCon Engineering, Inc. Roger has a heart for evangelizing and has served in many different capacities throughout his church life including chairman of finance, outreach leader, leader/teacher of boys in the Royal Ambassadors program, and leader/teacher of men’s Bible study groups associated with Brotherhood and Promise Keepers. Recently Roger completed a mission trip to Colombia where he taught English as a second language. Roger is a member of Trinity Baptist Church where he serves as vice-chairman of the church Trustee Board, a member of the Finance committee, a Bible study teacher, and a member of the worship team.
Merci Dixon, Member at Large for Mirror Ministries, served as Director of Women’s Ministry at Moss Bluff First Baptist Church in Moss Bluff, Louisiana from 1986 until 2000. During that time she led the church in ten women’s conferences and numerous retreats, Bible studies, Women’s Nights Out, and was involved in counseling and prayer groups. Though retired in 2000, Merci is currently teaching a ladies’ Sunday School class, leading a Beth Moore Bible study, and is active in prison ministry.
Linda Kieffer, Member at Large, has been ministering to women and children for the past 25 years. She has served in churches in Oklahoma, Texas, and Louisiana. Linda has written and directed Bible Studies for both women and children's ministries as well as led many training conferences. Linda extends her passion for women and children to the foreign mission field, traveling each year to lead Vacation Bible School at the Good Shepherd's Children's Home in Honduras. Most recently Linda served on staff as Children's Minister of Trinity Baptist Church in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Linda has been married to her husband Joel for 27 years, and they have four sons: Joey, Bryan, Joshua, and Brandon.
